Guilford, VT was one of several New England towns that boasted mineral springs. The Guilford Mineral Spring Water company bottled the liquid in Saratoga bottles and sold it regionally, boasting of its healing powers. It was advertised as a cure for cancer, scrofula, piles, and secondary syphilis. This bottle was part of a large collection amassed by Frederick R. Bridges.

Saratoga style bottles are a quart size bottle used to sell mineral water from the springs primarily around Saratoga, NY but also from other places. Amber and dark green are the most common colors, but there are many color variants. They were made by blowing glass into full-size molds.
