This report from Deerfield, Massachusetts' Superintendent of Schools only spoke of students from grades 1 through 8 because at that time Deerfield's high school, the Dickinson High School, was operated jointly with the Deerfield Academy. As is always the case, the ambitions of the school superintendent exceeded the budget from the state. Here he recommends that fund-raising efforts be conducted by the students and teachers for enhancements to the playground. In all, the school system in 1915 was moving toward an ideal of complete care of the children, including in-school health care.
