Photographed between 1915 and 1920, near the end of their photography career, this Allen sisters scene in a Deerfield, Massachusetts, parlor shows a lady vocalist in period dress complete with a late 19th century hat. Her accompanist, seated at the piano, is in formal attire. The Allen sisters delighted in creating tableaux such as this to portray life in the past.
