This letter from C. Alice Baker to George and Jennie Sheldon states Miss Baker's opinions about the trolley line quite clearly. She is adamant in her opposition of the line running down the Deerfield street and is outspoken in her belief that "the promoters get the money and the townspeople get no dividends - not even low fares." She rallied many supporters for her view, which coincides with that of the Sheldons. They were overruled, however, and the line was set down the middle of the village.
