This draw knife is stamped with the name, P.FIELD, presumably the owner. Many Field family members lived and continue to live in both Deerfield and Northfield, and further west in Conway and Ashfield. The knife was used by a woodworker to shave and smooth the surface of a piece of lumber. It has an 18 inch blade with a handle at each end.
