This World War I vintage toy was manufactured by Otto and Max Hauser in Stuttgart, Germany. The company, O&M Hauser, was founded by the brothers in 1904. An ambulance, complete with linen side curtains, is made of iron, but the figures and the horses are molded of elastolin, a mixture of sawdust and glue attached to a wire frame.
