Toys, like this miniature wood-fired cookstove, were probably intended to reinforce domestic routines on little girls. Cast of iron and marked on the front, "BIRD," along with floral vines for decoration, the entire object is nickel-plated. On the cooking surface are three vessels: a coffee pot, a frying pan, a "spider" on three legs, and an iron pot with a bail handle.
