This poster announces the performance of a comic play in South Deerfield, Massachusetts, staged by the Sympson Levie Co. of Bardstown, Kentucky. The cast, made up entirely of local men, portrayed such characters as President Herbert Hoover and the popular film actress Mary Pickford. Claiming to be the biggest affair ever staged in South Deerfield, the play promised to deliver "screams of laughter." Local businesses showed their support of the play, and advertised themselves at the same time.
