This bevel square, marked "CD," belonged to Consider Dickinson (1761-1854) of Deerfield, Massachusetts. Bevel squares are woodworking tools used to mark angles. Consider Dickinson ("Uncle Sid") was a soldier in the American Revolution and spent some years as a fur trader in Canada.
