This cast iron tea kettle of unknown age, is of a design that would have been familiar to an 18th century household. It was made by pouring molten iron into a mold made of sand. This type of design would influence the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th century, which sought out plain and simple objects from the 18th century.
