This 1672 deed transfer of land is in payment of a sum owed John Pynchon of ten large beavers and other debts that she, Mashalisk, and her sons acknowledge. The land involved includes tracts of land around Sugarloaf Mountain, running from the Connecticut River to the Deerfield River. In addition to discharging her debts, Pynchon also pays with "sixty fada of wampum," two coats, some cotton and several other small things. She signs the document with her mark, as does her kinsman, a witness.
