Contained in the History of Worcester is a biographical sketch of Daniel Shays. Daniel Shays is remembered for the insurrection of 1786-7 that became known as Shays' Rebellion. This biographical sketch tells of his service in the Revolutionary War, where he was appointed a captain. The author is no supporter of what Shays represented, questioning his honor and integrity, but admits that his courage in war was unsurpassed.
