Equipped with an electric motor and a reversible wringer, this early 20th century wooden contraption promised to take the labor out of the weekly laundry chore. The wheels allowed the housewife to move the machine to a convenient location. The wooden tub needed to be filled with hot water and then drained when the washing operation had finished. The combination of water and electricity had the potential for dangerous consequences.
