Indian schools were often sponsored by churches. The Montana Industrial School for Crow Indians received support from the American Unitarian Association. These mission schools were designed to "de-Indianize" the Native children and to introduce them to Christian religion through education. This letter thanks Emmeline V. Ward for her anonymous contribution of ten dollars.
