There is currently no available "Beginner" label. The following is the default level label: Mary Montague was a teacher in Sunderland, Massachusetts when she wrote this letter to a friend in June, 1852. She was teaching summer school at the time and had twenty-nine scholars. Mary wrote of attending the Teachers' Institute in Deerfield in the spring (April) and felt that it was worthwhile. She also attended a Convention of teachers in Franklin County that she found instructive. Mary was reading "Uncle Tom's Cabin" at the time and felt that it was very well written.
