Mr. Printer—Please to insert the following.

THE Select-men of Sunderland received a letter from the Convention, which set at Hadley in Nov. last, requesting them to call a town-meeting to make choice of a man to sit in Convention, upon an adjournment, to be holden at Hatfield. According to their request, a warrant was issued, a meeting warned (which was attended) a moderator chosen, and a vote taken, and there appeared only one in favour of the request. The reasons I leave with the public to determine. Some suppose the stupidity of the meeting in not answering the request, was owing to their not having a proportionable share of the public Pepper.
From a Citizen of Sunderland.

This article from the Hampshire Gazette reported on the locations and numbers of the Government Militia and the Regulators who opposed them. Printed the day before the encounter at the United States Arsenal in Springfield, the writer informed readers "it is highly probable, events of importance speedily take place." William Butler began publication of the Hampshire Gazette on September 6, 1786, in Northampton, Massachusetts. Established to provide on-the-spot information about the unrest in the western Massachusetts counties, the paper generally was pro-government in tone.
