To the Inhabitants of the tenth
Collection District, in the eighth Division, for a direct
tax, in the State of Massachusetts.
YOU are hereby notified, that the Tax, which has been affected
upon Dwelling-Houses, & Lands and Slaves, within this District, by
virtue of an Act of Congress, passed the 14th July, 1798, entitled
"An Act to lay and collect a direct tax," becomescame due and
payable
on the Seventh day of April 1800, next, and that I
will attend at the Dwelling House of Mr. Ebenezer Pomeroy in Hawley
to collect
the same, from and after on the 10th day of September
next at 1. OClock P.M.
of which, all persons concerned are to take notice.
In conformity to the 6th section of the Act aforesaid, a full and
correct copy of the Tax List remains in the office of the Surveyor
of the Revenue for the tenth Assessment District,
in the eighth Division, for a direct tax, in the State of Mas-
sachusetts, open to the inspection of all persons inclined to inspect
the same.

NB All persons concerned are desired to notice that the law
requires the Collection to apply once only at their respective
dwellings to demand the Tax. If he calls a
second time an addition of eight pr Centum upon the Tax
will be demanded.
