Old Hampshire Anti-Slavery Society.

THE annual meeting of the Society will be held at Northampton, on Wednesday, the 18th of January next at 11 o'clock, A.M.- Addresses are expected from several distinguished speakers, and among others, Mr. Theodore D. Weld, of New York.

The 1830s were the heyday of the formation of anti-slavery societies. Associations were established at the town, county and state levels. This is the notice of the annual meeting of the society in Northampton, Massachusetts, where noted abolitionist from New York, Theodore Weld (1803-1895) would speak. Weld married the well-known abolitionist Angelina Grimké in 1838.
The Greenfield Gazette and Franklin Herald was the newspaper in Greenfield, Massachusetts, from June 26, 1827 to June 27, 1837. It changed its name to the Gazette & Mercury.
