Arrival of Missionaries.- Rev Wm Richards, Missionary at the Sandwich
Islands, has arrived in this country, with Mrs Richards and six of their children.
He expects to return to his field of labor as soon as possible.
In the Phoenix, at New-London, from the Sandwich Islands, Rev Samuel Parker,
of Ithaca N.Y. Missionary of the A. B. C. F. M. who crossed the Rocky Mountains
on exploring expedition among the various tribes of Indians, and returned by
the way of the Sandwich Islands and Cape Horn, after travelling 27,000 miles.
Also two sons of Levi Chamberlin, of the Sandwich Islands Mission, to be educated
in the United States.
Rev David Abeel and R. J. Blair, have arrived at New-York from St. Thomas.

In New England evangelical enthusiasm led to the formation of missionary societies that sent clergy to foreign lands to bring bibles and religion to non-Christians. This is the report of some missionaries who had returned home from the Sandwich Islands (Hawaii) for a visit. The Greenfield Gazette and Franklin Herald was the newspaper in Greenfield, Massachusetts, from June 26, 1827 to June 27, 1837. It changed its name to the Gazette & Mercury.
