ARMY
E
NAVY

TO YOU..
WHO HELPED US WIN THE ARMY - NAVY "E"

WE are proud of the flag now flying above our plant;
proud of the Army-Navy "E" pins we are privileged
to wear. But, in all fairness, we feel those honors should
be shared with you- the users of "G.T.D. Greenfield"
tools- Taps, Dies, Gages.

Your patronage made us grow. Your loyalty inspired our
progress. That is why War found "G.T.D. Greenfield"
ready. When the hour struck, we had both the equipment
and the skill necessary for greatly increased output of tools
for the building of modern war weapons.

Now, "for the duration," we pledge ourselves to any
sacrifice- that Victory may demand. Harder work. Better
work. Ever increasing production. And we are helped in
this resolve by the knowledge that in this crisis, as in the
past, we have your backing and co-operation.

An advertisement placed by Greenfield Tap and Die Corporation (GTD) ran in Aero Digest magazine during WWII. GTD was the world's largest maker of taps, dies and gages. The Army/Navy awarded the company with several "E" flags and the employees "E" pins for exceptional performance in manufacturing. GTD ran three shifts, worked around the clock seven days a week producing these measuring devices that insured an accurate fit for all parts produced anywhere in the country.
