This photograph, dating to the early 20th century, shows trolley cars and the men who ran them. The motormen/conductors wear their uniforms and caps. One has his hand on the controls. The uniforms help to keep a railroad-like service with a regular schedule. Three "customers" stand to the left, a man and 2 young boys. The electric cars, open in the summer (shown in the first 2 cars) and closed (as in the 3rd car) run on tracks laid most often next to roads. The side curtains could be rolled down when it rained.
