The Allen sisters [Frances and Mary Allen (1858-1941)] took pictures of many room settings and things in Memorial Hall in the early 19th century. This cupboard once stood next to the parlor fireplace in the 1760 home of Elijah Williams of Deerfield, Massachusetts. When that house was moved to make way for a Deerfield Academy building, PVMA bought the cupboard for 10 dollars and placed it in Memorial Hall. Treasured things of pottery and glass would have been displayed in it and it is a typical cupboard of the 1760s with its shell design.
