This watercolor painting is of Mary Ella Childs (1854-1942) who lived in Deerfield, Massachusetts. It is attributed to Augustus Fuller (1812-1873) and was painted around 1863. Ella, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Warren) Childs, is depicted in her best dress holding her china-head doll Lilla, who wears a fashionable dress similar to Ella's.
