People from all religions came to Lake Pleasant in Montague, Massachusetts, to relieve the stress of living in an increasingly modern world. There they could see people who could read minds and see into the future and healers who themselves had been drawn to the village by the pure sparkling waters of Lake Pleasant. Not only was the lake beautiful and peaceful, it was thought to have the power to cure. Rowboats and a small steamer were available for fishing or for pleasure trips on the lake.
