A History of Deerfield, Massachusetts, written by George Sheldon (1818-1916) in the late 19th century, was one of many town histories printed in New England as part of the celebration of the United States' 100th birthday. In 2 volumes, the history of the town is told and in the 2nd volume is a section of genealogy information of the early settlers of Deerfield and their relatives. Mr. Sheldon used town records, personal letters, diaries, and court records to write his history and the genealogies.
