The author, Emma Lewis Coleman, lived in the Frary House in Old Deerfield in the early 20th century when she wrote this guide to the town. The old houses are described, as is the history of the old burying ground on Albany Road. The author explains the importance of the colonial revival and how the home businesses it brought were good for the town. In addition she lists the trees, birds, and wildflowers common to the area.
