Ebenezer Wells (1691-1758) made out his detailed will one year before he died, leaving one half of his personal estate and one half of his real estate to his wife Abigail. Ebenezer and Abigail (Barnard) Wells (1692-1772) had no children. Undoubtedly because of this, Mr. Wells left to Abigail more than the standard "widow's thirds" of his estate. He remembered, also, the children of his brothers, leaving them both land and cash. He further specified that money from his estate be provided for "a good Silver tankard" for the church.
