Ebenezer Wells (1691-1758) made out his detailed will one year before he died, leaving one half of his personal property and one half of his land to his wife Abigail. Ebenezer and Abigail (Barnard) Wells (1692-1772) had no children. Because of this, Mr. Wells left to Abigail more than the standard "widow's thirds". He remembered, also, the children of his brothers, leaving them both land and cash. He also stated that some of his money be used for "a good Silver tankard" for the church.
