Dear G. S. & Jennie

I have been up to
Archie Howe’s. He is in New York
and wont be back till Thursday
Then I wrote to Professor James
Thayer the biggest lawyer in
Cambridge head of the law school here. I got the enclosed
note from his wife. (He is sick.)
Then I sent Sena with a note
to "Jo Warner" as recommended
by Mr Thayer, and here is
her answer. I have done all
I can - Now at 10P.M
I think of Richard H. Dana
Junior - but it is too late for
me to do any thing about him.
If you want to you can find his
Boston law office and drive there

As the time comes for a decision on the location of the trolley tracks in Deerfield, Miss Baker writes to the Sheldons of the important people she has contacted to help their cause. She repeats that she has "done the best I could." She praises "clean politics" and hopes they will be practiced in this case and suggests that the Sheldons show Mr. Warner, who removed the trolleys from a historic street in Boston, photos of Deerfield and to stress the restoration of the houses. Miss Baker's love for the town of Deerfield can be seen in her letter.
