Extract from the division of Salah Barnard’s
estate including all the land set off to the Widow.
"To the Widow Elizabeth Barnard

The Homelot in Deerfield bounded north on the
homelot set off to Ebenezer Barnard 2d. East on land
called Woodchuck hill south on Jeremiah Nims’
homelot and west on the Town Street containing three
acres more or less with the Buildings thereon, except the
new House and Land set off to Erastus Barnard } $1383.33
5 ¾ acres of Land on little meadow so called,
Frarys lot, bounded North and South on Capt. }
Thomas Dickinson’s land, east on the road
leading from the Town Street into Great Mead-
ow, so called, and west on Land called Field’s } 421.66
20 ½ acres of Land in the East mountain
of Lands in Deerfield which land was lately owned Division
by David Stebbins for the boundaries of said }
Land see said Stebbins’deed to said Salah
Barnard sd deed dated August 11.1768 } 93.33
41 acres of Land in the East mountain division
of Lands in Deerfield which land was lately }
owned by Elihu Field for the boundaries see

Salah Barnard died in 1795, leaving a widow and 8 living children. His widow continued to live on in the house, and possibly controlled the other lands as well. This paper, written at the time of the death of the widow, is an assessment of the land that had been bought by Barnard and the value of each section. The homelot, Lot 29 I, with 3 acres and buildings, is valued at $1383.33.
