Wagon and carriage building was an important local business in Greenfield in 1835 when this baby carriage was made. Baby carriages were made somewhat like carriages pulled by horses. Jarvis B. Prentiss (1804-1844) of Greenfield built this carriage for his baby daughter, Eliza.
