There is currently no available "Beginner" label. The following is the default level label: This early charcoal sketch by Elizabeth Brooks Fuller (1896-1979) depicts the raising of her brother George Fuller's tobacco barn. George Fuller (1893-1950), ran the family farm at The Bars, Deerfield, Massachusetts, and here members of the community were building the family's third tobacco barn. In helping their neighbor with a task that would be otherwise impossible, George's neighbors were following a long tradition of expecting that when they needed similar such help, their neighbors would contribute. Tobacco was another of Deerfield's staple crops, then as now a highly lucrative crop. Tobacco barns are unusual compared to other barns: the process of tobacco curing requires a large number of ventilation doors along the barn's length. The barns are relatively narrow to allow the free circulation of air.
