This early 20th-century wooden machine with its electric motor and a reversible wringer promised to take the work out of the weekly laundry chore. The wheels allowed the housewife to move the machine to a better spot. The wooden tub needed to be filled with hot water and then drained when the washing was done. The combination of water and electricity could be dangerous.
