Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden
This illustration depicts Adam and Eve wearing leaves in the Garden of Eden after they have eaten the apple from the Tree of Knowledge and become aware of their nakedness.

The Serpent
The Devil in the form of a serpent twines around the tree of knowledge, tempting Eve to taste the forbidden fruit. God condemns the serpent forever to crawl on its belly, despised by humankind.

The Tree of Knowledge
God forbade Adam and Eve to taste the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge. Artists and writers commonly depict it as an apple tree.
