This carved oak chest is believed to have been made for William Arms (1692-1774) who lived at the south end of the Old Deerfield street.

This joined "Hadley" chest was made about 1700 in Hatfield, Massachusetts and was believed to have been owned by Rebecca Allis (b. 1683) whose initials are carved on the center panel.
