This leather bullet pouch has an opening in the center to hold ammunition (bullets or shot). It has fringed ends and porcupine quills as decoration. This pouch is from the 18th century and holds importance to Deerfield, Massachusetts, because it is associated with Eunice Williams, a Deerfield girl who was captured during the 1704 Deerfield Raid. This pouch belonged to Arosen, Eunice Williams' Kanien'kehaka (Mohawk) husband. According to family history, the pouch was given as a gift to Stephen Williams, Eunice's brother, when Eunice and Arosen were visiting New England in the 18th century.
