This carving fork was part of a wedding present to Charlotte Wardner Lamson when she married Charles Hyde Warren in 1905. She was the grand-daughter of Ebenezer Lamson, one of the original partners of the Lamson & Goodnow Company of Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts. Oddly, this case contained only knives, several nut picks, serving forks, and a fish knife. Perhaps another box held the spoons and forks. This set had two different types of knives, one with mother-of-pearl handles, the other with bone handles. The pearl-handled knives were more elegant, and probably were intended for special occasions.
