This letter from General Shepard to the selectmen of Colerain, Massachusetts, is dated February 11, 1787 and states that the general and 600 troops will be in that town that day and will require wood, food, and sufficient space. He also asks them to advise the men of Colerain, who participated in the insurgencies, to take the oath of allegiance and surrender their arms.
