Cornelius Kelley (1854-1954) was a blacksmith in Deerfield, Massachusetts, who began making decorative ironwork after the need for shoeing horses declined with the advent of the automobile. Kelly made this wrought iron stand intended for holding a pot of ferns for Nellie (Ryan) Wells in 1928.
