Edward Allyn's wife had died in June 1696, but he left eleven living children, the oldest, 37 and the youngest, 11. He dictated very precise directions for the apportionment of his estate. His will is typical in that the real estate is left to the boys and the girls receive "the moveables," the household goods. Edward Allyn signed his will with an "X."
