This account of the military fine money collected by Captain Moses Scott of Bernardston, Massachusetts, finds that all the money is accounted for and he actually had 9 shillings 6 pence more. Men were assessed fines if they did not come out for militia training days, their equipment was not to specification, or they behaved badly.
