The Deerfield Society of Blue and White Needlework of Deerfield, Massachusetts, incorporated the peacock, a ubiquitous Arts and Crafts design motif, into a mythological scene. The appliqued and embroidered panel was intended to set in a wood frame and be made into a screen.
