Eight proprietors of the Common Field in Deerfield are named in the document. The year is 1733/34. Thomas French (1657-1733) was one of the early permanent settlers of Deerfield and served as town clerk for twelve years. He is summoned by Justice of the Peace, Timothy Dwight, to call a meeting of the proprietors to name a clerk and to set the regulations for the fencing of the common fields.
