After choosing a Moderator (Capt. Thomas Wells) and a committee to finish the meeting house, the other business before the meeting had to do with the disposal of all wood and timber fallen down around the town. They decreed that if all was not hewed or cut for firewood within one month, that it could be the property of anyone who would take it for a period of twelve months. The final item of business was to pay the minister's salary from March 1 until the day of his death on June 12, 1729. The Reverend Williams had begun preaching in Deerfield in June 1686.
