Steve (Silver Bear) McComber (b. 1955), a Kanien'kehaka (Mohawk) carved this sculpture honoring the corn sister, one of the Iroquois three sisters (corn, beans and squash.) in 2004. When the three sisters are planted together, they are thought to be spiritual and physical sustainers of life.
