There is currently no available "Beginner" label. The following is the default level label: The town clerk, an elected official, was responsible for taking notes at town meetings, which were usually held four times each year. Business transacted includes the hiring of a school mistress, plans for building a new meeting house, and the election of town officers. At the April 1729 meeting the town voted that the Select men "Shall provide on the Town Charge a sutable quantity of Drink and Cake to be spent at the Raising of the Meeting house."
