Things connected to the American Revolution (1775-1783) became much-loved treasures in the years following the war. Someone from Shelburne, Massachusetts, gave these musket balls and paper cartridges to the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Hall Museum. The person who gave them said that the bullets and cartridges had been carried at the Battle of Lexington. However, this may not be true. The tale does show how any item that could be connected to the war became important.
