There is currently no available "Beginner" label. The following is the default level label: Elihu Hoyt (1771-1833), was Deerfield's representative to the General Court in Boston during most of the years between 1803 and 1833. This letter to farmer Samuel Wells (1772-1816), a contemporary of Elihu's in Deerfield, contains information about the slow workings of the Court [the legislative body of Massachusetts] and conveys agricultural tidings about current prices and availability of beef and hay. It informs, also, as to how Elihu Hoyt travels between Deerfield and Boston when he states that he will go "out in the Leominster stage."
