This letter from C. Alice Baker to George and Jennie Sheldon states Miss Baker's opinions about the trolley line quite clearly. She is strongly against the line running down the Deerfield street and is outspoken in her belief that "the promoters get the money and the townspeople get no dividends - not even low fares." She collected many supporters for her view, which is the same as that of the Sheldons. They lost, however, and the line was set down the middle of the village.
